World's Biggest Hotel to Open in Mecca Saudi Arabia in 2017

Do you know which hotel is the largest in the world? The Venetian and The palazzo Las Vegas that function as a single complex with a total of 7,117 rooms that have been distributed on 53 floors. Las Vegas is currently home to the world's largest hotels. But this fact is soon to be changed because the biggest hotel in the world is being built in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, offering 10,000 rooms, helicopter pads and convenience for the Masjid al-Haram. Total cost: $3.5 billion.


Designed by Dar Al Handasah group, the project has a total built area of 1.4 million square meter and will be set in the Manafia area in Mecca's central zone, DesignMENA reported. The complex will be funded by the Saudi Ministry of Finance.

It is due to be completed in 2017 and is being situated in the Manafia area of Mecca’s central zone, just 2.2km south of the Masjid al-Haram.

For Muslims, the city of Mecca is the holiest city and more than 20 million people travel to this city annually. 2 million, roughly, travel to the city during the period of Hajj specifically.

While 10 of the towers are intended to provide four-star accommodation, the remaining two will offer luxurious five-star amenities, said the hotel's architect.

Abraj Kudai is not the only one new hotel planned for Mecca. Hilton, the worldwide brand, is developing the Conrad Makkah, due to open in 2016 while the new Hyatt Regency Makkah is accepting reservations from July.
